Construction Executive Jobs
Situated at the senior management level in an organization, the typical construction executive is responsible for managing multiple construction projects, supervising construction project managers, and advising on strategic issues concerning the construction department and company as a whole. The construction executive may report to the company's CEO/COO. Some construction executives may be given alternate titles such as senior construction director, senior project manager, and director — construction operations, among others.
Organizations which are involved in construction work on a large scale generally hire executives from within the construction industry. As such, a four-year construction, civil engineering, or structural engineering degree may be advantageous for those seeking construction executive positions. Applicants may also be expected to have approximately 10 years of project management experience. A background in handling international construction projects may also be an asset.
