Manages team members, including performance management, coaching and discipline. Ensures sufficient staffing to meet the demand of feast or famine seasons in the industry, fluctuating workloads, and in staff’s absence.Develops departmental policies and procedures and manages their implementation in accordance with departmental strategic objectives or initiatives.Prepares team’s staffing and budgetary plans and manages resources to achieve department goals; monitors budget to control expenditures to properly administer division's budget.Ensure teams are properly trained and kept up-to-date on any procedural changes or updates to the businessManages and direct electrical and plumbing teams; ensures timely completion of service request, work orders, etc.Oversees installation and repair of electrical and plumbing systems.Oversees all phases of electrical and plumbing projects; including pricing, billing, permits, scheduling, organizing, material procurement, planning, project planning and development, etc.Maintains current on codes and requirements by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations, etc.Develops strategic utilities plans by studying operational plans; studying existing conditions; determining needs to accomplish operational plans; mapping solutions; updating and modifying requirements and solutions; preparing cost estimates and budgets.Plans utilities projects by determining specifications; working closely with construction manager; establishing installation schedules; planning shut-downs and installations; integrating requirements with architectural and MEP (mechanical, electrical & plumbing) designs; verifying code requirements; updating cost estimates.Supports team’s development for technical support for field technicians when neededDevelops preventative maintenance procedures and ensures implementation.Conducts routine inspections of facilities to identify and proactively resolve issues.Collaborates with Construction Project Management to schedules and coordinates projects.Reviews and oversees material takeoff list for individual projects and inventory stock.Acts as liaison to the utility staff and management to ensure strategic planning and implementation of project plans.Manages external service providers ensuring that deliverables are met in a timely manner and within budget.Observes and trends utility issues for continuity and improvement.Promotes and maintains a safe work environment, ensuring team members adheres to all safety protocols and Standard Operating Procedures and wearing personal protective equipment as required.Collaborates with Safety Team to ensure EHS guidelines are followed.Implements preventative maintenance programs to ensure plumbing and electrical are maintained in optimum condition while in compliance with current local and state requirements.Meets with internal company requestors to collect new utility project request details. Generates a cost estimate and presents to Operations approval.Ensures plumbing and electrical are maintained in optimum condition and in compliance with local and state requirements.Stays up-to-date on business needs and initiatives to ensure alignment and needs are met.Collaborates with all remote labs to ensure building maintenance and compliance.Routinely visits remote labs for routine check-in and inspection.Perform other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management. Education and Experience:High school diploma or GED.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, a plus.Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in plumbing, electrical, or related experience.Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a commercial facility environment.Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience.Minimum of five (5) years of Project Management experience Special Requirements/Certification:Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.OSHA 30-hour certification required.Journeyman card in Plumbing or Electrical required.Valid Contractor License (C-10 or C-36) required. C-10 license highly preferred.PMP, a plus.
