What You Will Do
Gannett Fleming is looking for an experienced Construction Manager (CM) Oversight Manager to join our team in the Greater Chicago Area. Successful candidates will perform a wide variety of tasks related to management, supervision and coordination of teams, trade contractors and subcontractors.\u202f As the primary point of interaction with the client, duties will include managing the CM Project Team, conducting progress meetings, reviewing and processing contractors\u2019 requisitions, monitoring schedules and budgets, as well as supervise the administration of contracts.
The Construction Oversight Manager is an integrated member of a 40 person Program Management team overseeing the planning, design, and construction of a long-term, $5 billion capital infrastructure program for the Chicago Transit Authority, the third largest transit agency in the nation.
Provides recommendations during planning and design phases of projects regarding constructability, phasing, logistics and operations interface to minimize costs and service disruptions
Assists in the identification of risks that affect schedule and budget adherence
Assists in the establishment of CM Standards in areas such as safety, scheduling, contract change management, and quality plans
Assists the Owner in CM procurement activities, including scope development, evaluation criteria, and levels of effort estimates
Assists the Owner in the oversight of CM contracts for transit capital projects
Assists in coordinating construction activities among transit operations, infrastructure, and contractors
Coordinates with other functional area of the Program Management team, including Planning/Design Oversight and Project Controls
other titles: CCM, Resident Enginer, Construction Manager
A minimum of 10 years of CM and/or Resident Engineer experience
Preference for candidates with experience on transit/rail infrastructure projects, including stations, civil/track, traction power, and signals/systems
Experience in construction planning within operating complex operating environments, with a demonstrated ability to creatively minimize service disruptions and mitigate risks
Working knowledge of E-Builder
Strong communication and organizational skills
