The position of Pedestal Superintendent, as a part of the field management team, travels extensively to various sites to function as the field manager and key Landmark representative. The Superintendent is hands-on and directs the activities of employees constructing water towers. The following duties are performed personally and\/or by employees in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable law.\r

Essential Functions:\r
Concrete placement and quality control knowledge\r
Understanding of various forming systems and requirements\r
Understanding of concrete mix design and admixtures\r
Surveying and general layout of jobsite\r
Ability to work at heights\r
Ability to routinely work away from home\r
Site work including road construction, excavation, backfilling, compaction, grading and testing\r
Utility work including water main, storm drains, flanged piping and valve installations\r
Sub trade work: electrical, instrumentation, painting, paving, etc.\r
Installation of various hardware, vents, hatches, and specialty items\r
Scaffolding and erection\r
Rigging knowledge\r
Signaling of cranes and other construction equipment\r
Use of saws, grinder, hand tools\r
Grinding, sanding, and polishing\r
Painting, caulking, and sealing\r
Understanding of OSHA Part 1926\r
Supervisory Responsibilities:\r
Supervise\/manage\/direct the selection, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of personnel.\r
General Direction: receive very general guidance with respect to overall objectives; work is usually quite independent of others; operate within division or department policy guidelines using independent judgment in achieving assigned objectives.\r

Required Qualifications:\r
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)\r
5 to 10 years of heavy construction experience of progressive responsibility in a supervisory role\r
Experience with OSHA and other regulatory requirements and industry standards\r
Experience directing, training, and motivating field personnel\r
Valid Driver License\r
Desired Qualifications:\r
CPR and First Aid Certification\r
NCCCO Crane Operator Certification\r

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.\r
The employee is repeatedly required to climb vertical ladders.\r
The employee is also regularly required to talk, hear, or smell as well as use hands to finger, handle, or feel.\r
The employee is regularly required to sit.\r
The employee must regularly lift and\/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and\/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and\/or move up to 100 pounds.\r
The employee must regularly apply 75 foot pounds of torque in the assembly, dismantling, erection, and installation of various types of structures, tank jig, scaffolding, etc.\r
Regularly swings a 10 pound hammer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.\r
