SUMMARY
Global Management Services, LLC, a subsidiary of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is currently seeking a qualified Planner/Estimator in Ft. Eustis, VA. This position will assist

project managers with all aspects of the project from proposal to final report for as
s
igned project by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical coordination of planning, scheduling and estimating functions for building, construction, repair, or replacement projects initiated as service orders or work orders
Performs monitoring and surveillance of all jobs on a daily basis to ensure compliance with specs and schedules
Plans and formulates broad schedules for project program and estimates projects according to project requirements.
Reviews change requirements to schedules and estimates to ensure compliance with SOW (statement of work) and related specifications
Provides interpretation for work order requests and other resources and submits appropriate paperwork
Coordinates meetings with engineers/ technical personnel and/or sub-contractors for purposes of clarifying information, understanding job requirements and/or soliciting and collecting bids
May provide graphic illustrations or technical requirements, prepare plans, schedules and estimate summaries
Track material deliveries in accordance with schedule requirements. 
Prepares and/or updates EXCEL spreadsheets to track RFPs, Detailed Estimates, Letters of Direction, Maximo #s and any special Service Orders handled by the Estimating Department.
Controls expenditures within parameters of project budget.
Meets all deadlines. Prepares inspection and completion reports. 
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Required (Minimum) Qualifications
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with construction work and Microsoft EXCEL spreadsheets and Microsoft Word.
Ability to read and comprehend detailed statements of work and perform side by side comparisons of detailed contractor quotes.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Facility clearance including official background checks.  Must be able to obtain access to military installations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be fluent in English.   Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Ability to write simple correspondence   Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
COMPUTER SOFTWARE SKILLS:  Microsoft EXCEL and Microsoft Word
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to interpret and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.   Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
CLEARANCES, CERTIFICATIONS, TRAINING, ETC.: Valid driver's license and safe driving record. Facility clearance including official background checks is required.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT: Ability to safely operate and maintain the following:  Company vehicles. General office equipment (i.e. telephone, blackberry, copier, fax, computer, adding machine, laser measuring tool etc.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals;
and
outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work requires approximately 50% office/administrative work and 50% field work.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
