Job Summary
Shimmick Construction, an AECOM Co., is seeking a Structural Field Engineer in Chattanooga, TN.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Prepare and assemble contract submittals, work plans, and related documents
Contract document interpretation /write RFI's
Design and calculate formwork, block-outs and temporary structures
Produce and edit 3D models for field integration fit up checks
Assist with rigging/ lift plans, weight estimates, center of gravity calculations
Help manage subcontractors and coordinate with suppliers
Estimates and quantity takeoffs, and procurement paperwork
Review and redline shop drawings
Coordinate with survey to assist with layouts and tolerance checks
Under general supervision, performs routine duties.
Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications.
Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work.
Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design.
Performs quantity surveys for tracking and reporting.
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in structural, civil engineering, or related field
Formwork & shoring design experience or ability to produce wood, steel, and concrete anchorage calculations
AutoCAD 3D and 2D skills
Experience reviewing and redlining structural details and lift drawings
Heavy Civil construction and field experience.
EIT with PE or SE career path
ACI Certifications
Rebar detailing and support experience
Previous USACE (US Army Corp of Engineers) experience
Additional Information:

Relocation and per diem support are not available for this position.
Ability to climb stair towers equivalent to a five story building several times daily.
Candidate must be willing and able to workday or night shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Candidate must have the willingness and ability to work on land or over water.
Must be able to work from a manlift to 120 feet in height.
