Construction Specialist Jobs

A construction specialist position is a consulting position that involves constant communication with work crews and customers; information sharing about concrete science; quality control and assurance monitoring of aggregate processing and concrete batching; and the verification and documentation of contractors' compliance with regulations, with an emphasis on proper specifications, materials, and workmanship for mass concrete, roller compacted concrete, and reinforced concrete construction. Duties may also include the coordination of materials; the tracking of inventories and job progress; putting together bid packages; working with designers and specifications writers; and/or guiding craftsmen and foremen with regard to construction-related issues.

Construction specialists typically possess a bachelor's degree in construction engineering or civil engineering or at least five years of experience as a field supervisor. Specialists may have to utilize spreadsheets and various Windows-based applications.
