Construction Estimator Jobs description
A construction estimator job involves detailing all the materials necessary for the contract to achieve given specification. Duties include estimating the cost of plant and equipment, working with the planning engineer and calculating likely completion rate of the project, keeping in mind bonus payments and sub contractual arrangements, calculating a final figure for the estimated cost, and monitoring and storing costs through the use of computers to improve the accuracy of future pricing.A construction estimator job usually requires completion of a three-year college program in civil or construction engineering. Experience as a qualified tradesperson in a construction trade, such as plumbing, carpentry, or electrical trade, may be an advantage.
