Position Summary

PEC is seeking an experienced Field Safety Manager to lead and support safety initiatives across active electrical construction jobsites. This role is highly field-focused (approximately 75% onsite) and requires a hands-on safety professional with a strong understanding of electrical hazards and construction operations.

The Field Safety Manager serves as a visible safety leader, working directly with electricians, foremen, and project leadership to identify hazards, reinforce safe work practices, and ensure compliance with OSHA and NFPA standards—without slowing down production.

Key Responsibilities

Field Safety Oversight (Approximately 75%)

  • Conduct routine and unannounced safety inspections on active electrical jobsites
  • Observe and assess electrical work practices, including:

- Energized work

- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

- Arc flash and shock hazard controls

  • Identify unsafe conditions or behaviors and partner with field leadership to implement corrective actions
  • Support job hazard analyses (JHAs), pre-task planning, and daily toolbox talks
  • Verify proper use of PPE, including arc-rated clothing, voltage-rated gloves, and fall protection
  • Serve as the primary safety resource for field electricians and jobsite leadership
  • Support incident response, investigations, and root cause analysis

Electrical Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC-related safety practices, and site-specific requirements
  • Assist with the development and enforcement of electrical safety programs, including:

- Energized work permits

- LOTO procedures

- Confined space requirements

  • Coordinate with general contractors and site safety representatives
  • Participate in regulatory inspections and safety audits

Training & Administration (Approximately 25%)

  • Conduct and coordinate electrical safety training (OSHA, NFPA 70E, task-specific training)
  • Support new-hire safety orientations
  • Track safety training records, certifications, and documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, near misses, and corrective actions
  • Prepare safety reports and analyze trends for leadership
  • Assist with workers’ compensation and return-to-work processes as needed

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of safety experience in electrical construction or electrical contracting environments
  • Strong working knowledge of:

-OSHA regulations

-NFPA 70E

-Electrical hazard controls

  • OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certification (required)
  • Experience working directly on active construction jobsites
  • Ability to communicate effectively with electricians, foremen, project managers, and executives
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly between jobsites
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelors Degree

Working Conditions

  • Regular work in active construction environments around energized equipment
  • Ability to walk jobsites, climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolding
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to wear required PPE at all times
